This privacy policy applies to the The Daily Stoic Android application (“the app”) with application ID com.nkalai.dailystoic.

Overview

The Daily Stoic is an Android app that shows you a daily Stoic quote and lets you add a quote widget to your home or lock screen. We respect your privacy and keep data handling minimal.

Data We Collect

We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data about you.

• The app does not require an account or sign-in.
• The app does not use analytics, crash reporting, or third-party tracking.
• The app does not show advertisements. (If we add ads in the future, we will update this policy and the app accordingly.)

Data Stored on Your Device

• Quotes: Quote content is loaded from assets bundled with the app. A copy of the current day’s quote may be stored in the app’s private storage (e.g. for the home screen widget). This data stays on your device only.
• Android backup: If you have device backup enabled, the app may be included in Android’s backup. Only app-specific files (such as the cached quote for the widget) may be backed up; we do not upload this data to our own servers.

Your Actions

• Share / Copy: When you use “Share” or “Copy,” the quote text is sent only to the app or destination you choose (e.g. another app or clipboard). We do not receive or store that data.
• Widgets: Widgets read the cached quote from the app’s local storage. No data is sent to us.

Third-Party Services

The app does not integrate third-party SDKs for ads, analytics, or social login. Quote content is sourced from stoic-quotes.com at build time only; the app does not contact that or any other server at runtime.

Children’s Privacy

The app does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children. It does not require registration or any personal data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will be revised when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
